The Stanfield Chronicles, written by David Tory, is the historical fiction trilogy chronicling the adventures of Isaac Stanfield as he participates in the opening up of New England, prior to and after the arrival of the Separatists.
Book 1: Exploration

After the disastrous fire in 1613, a young man, Isaac Stanfield, leaves Dorchester to become a sailor on a merchantman, The Sweet Rose. Through resilience, initiative and luck, Isaac finds himself a participant and observer in the explorations that preceded the arrival of the Mayflower in New England in 1620.
Isaac’s thirst for adventure is tempered by the love and support of friends while his youthful exuberance and charm attract many important people to engage him in their endeavors.
This story describes events in the period 1613-1620. It is also the story of Isaac’s coming of age in those turbulent times.
Book 2: Retribution

Retribution’ begins in 1620. A grieving Isaac Stanfield heads out across the Atlantic Ocean.
After the Mayflower sails for the new world, Isaac has been sent to explore the potential for trade and further settlements in New England. His efforts are frustrated by the incompetence and duplicity of the people with whom he has to deal. This second book in the Stanfield Chronicles series continues with Isaac’s love of adventure, his courage, and ingenuity being fully tested, his fascination with and respect for the native peoples he meets.
Isaac’s life consists of blue water sailing adventures, kidnapping, smuggling, pirates, torture and romance, on two continents, from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. A life lived on the edge while he attempts to protect those he loves.

The Stanfield family leave England in 1628, bound for New England. Also on board is John Endecott, the new Governor, together with his entourage, who is in bitter dispute with Isaac. On the long and arduous journey several attempts are made on Isaac’s life.
Isaac and his family arrive in Salem and work to establish themselves in the new land, while attempting to uncover the continuing threats to their lives and livelihood.
